Session focus
The session highlights original work covering the full spectrum of orthopaedic rehabilitation, including but not limited to:
- Post-operative and non-operative rehabilitation strategies
- Functional recovery and outcome optimisation
- Multidisciplinary and integrated care models
- Translational research and service innovation in rehabilitation
Paper review and presentation
- All submitted abstracts are reviewed by the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Subspecialty Board.
- Basing on the result of the adjudication, invitation may be sent to the oral presenters of the abstracts for considering presentation of the selected papers in the Award Paper Session for running the Best Paper in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Award. As a form of academic recognition, abstracts accepted for presentation will be published on the Meeting webpage.
- The Best Paper in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Award is established to recognize the outstanding performance of Fellows or trainees of HKCOS and local attendances on all aspects of orthopaedic rehabilitation. A certificate of Best Paper in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Award and cash award of HKD2,000 will be presented to the winners.

The following information is provided for applicants intending to submit abstracts for this session.

(Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted.)
Eligibility and presenter requirements
- The presenter must be a HKCOS Fellow, HKCOS Trainee, or local attendance on all aspects of orthopaedic rehabilitation (i.e. non-HKCOS Fellow/Trainee).
- The presenter must be one of the listed authors.
- The presenter must be identified at the time of submission.
- The presenter’s status cannot be changed after submission.
- If the presenter is changed after submission, the paper will be excluded from the Award Paper Presentation.
Abstract preparation requirements
- Abstracts must be written in English only and must not exceed 250 words.
- Abstracts should be submitted as a Word document, using Arial font (12-point), normal margins, and double line spacing, with no bold or italic formatting.
- The abstract should be structured under the headings: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
- Graphs, tables, and photographs are not permitted, and any economic sponsorship must be disclosed.
- Abstracts that have been previously published are not eligible, and submitted content cannot be amended after submission.
- Each abstract must be typed and submitted electronically via the designated platform, with a separate application form for each abstract, by the stated deadline.
Review and presentation arrangement
- Abstracts are reviewed by a panel appointed by the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Subspecialty Board, and all decisions of the board members are final.
- The Board reserves the right to reject any application at any time.
- Requests for specific presentation dates, sessions, or times will not be accommodated due to meeting logistics.
